7K a year Job description GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION:
This person must be able to show from past experience that he/she has a mechanical aptitude, interest, and is passionate about mechanical design.
The mechanical engineer oversees major mechanical design, machine optimization, and equipment sourcing/installation projects to meet our customers goals.
The lead engineer will lead other engineers in projects and daily activities.
This role entails working with associates from the Engineering, Production, Maintenance, R&D, Sales, and Quality Assurance to improve manufacturing equipment, controls, processes, and procedures.
The lead engineer must be able to gather information from other associates, machine observation, and logical deduction to implement solutions for equipment design solutions.
Duties:
Follow up with suppliers to get information, quotes, or design buyoff.
Follow up with design venders and help them get what they may need and track progress.
Help designers get the required information.
Schedule and manage design reviews.
Getting supplier buy off for application.
Assisting in getting missing information Creating Sequence of operations.
Work with existing project managers.
Manage outsourcing for engineering.
Requirements and desires:
5-year experience in a relevant field (required one or all the items below) o Machine building o Machinist o Project management o Machine design Experienced with SolidWorks.
(Not a requirement but a +) o Detailing o Design o Checking Mechanical Design savvy o Understand machine elements.
(Should have at lease some understanding of the function of the items listed here.
) Screws Slides Reducers Punches Dies Ball screws Etc.
o Understanding how machines work.
(The applicant should be able to look at a machine and describe with some accuracy how the machine works) Experienced in controls.
o Understands Hardware Design elements & Programming Design elements.
o Be able to read a Job Process Sheet and understand it.
) Able to work with controls designers and programmers.
Working understanding of controls architecture.
(This is a plus if the applicant has this ability) o Understands Allen Bradley PLC's, HMI's (This is a plus if the applicant has this ability) o Understands Siemens & OMRON Components (This is a plus if the applicant has this ability) o Understands Other components, such as:
(This is a plus if the applicant has this ability) Safety Elements, Light Screens, etc.
Safety Scanners Bar Code Readers & Printers Servo's & Variable Frequency Drives Capable of understanding mechanics at a conceptual level (required) o Capable of reading prints o Knowledge of GD&T o Understanding how a machine works from looking at it.
Able to create concepts that are sound at a conceptual level.
o Given a problem being able to devise a workable solution.
Capable of working/collaborating with application engineers to develop products and processes.
Capable of analyzing critical design factors.
(This is a plus if the applicant has this ability) Capable of interpreting analysis of critical design factors.
(This is a plus if the applicant has this ability) Capable of managing a complex project.
o Scheduling o Milestones o Change system.
Support all jobs where required with engineering expertise.
Engineering degree (This is a plus) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to stand for long periods of time; use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, and/or crouch.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Able to work flexible hours during equipment installations or direct support needs.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
