We strive to provide the best products and service to all of our customers and one of the ways we do that is to build a strong team! We are seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager based at our location in Marysville, Michigan.
The EHS Manager is responsible for the ongoing development, implementation, and oversight of our EHS policies, procedures and programs and is responsible for helping build a strong safety culture.
This position provides guidance to leadership and production employees to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure a safe working environment that is in compliance with all required local, state and federal regulations.
Manage all safety programs, training, and related documentation.
Conduct monthly safety audits and inspections and provide guidance on resolving identified risks and hazards to ensure safe operations and working conditions.
Monitor current and emerging EHS regulations to understand and proactively respond to changes that impact site operations.
Act as primary contact with EHS regulatory agencies at the federal, state, and local level.
Interact closely with site personnel to ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental programs and that the programs are effective and maintained.
Lead monthly safety meetings.
Conduct monthly safety training.
Conduct new hire safety orientation.
Conduct near miss/injury investigations to identify root cause, containment, and corrective actions.
Perform site audits and lead efforts to implement corrective actions.
Perform JSA's and PSA's.
Manage workers compensation claims and the modified duty/ restricted duty program.
Prepare detailed reports on EHS performance, including incident reports, safety statistics, and compliance documentation.
Strong leadership presence with the ability to drive a positive EHS culture.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement control measures.
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field preferred.
CSP or equivalent certification a plus.
Hands on experience in the implementation of occupational health components within an EHS system (hearing conservation, hazard communication, PPE, bloodborne pathogens, etc.
).
Five to seven years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
Comprehensive knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations.
Proven track record of driving safety improvements and project management.
Ability to engage with all levels of employees.
Experience working in a union environment is a plus.
